Wooden & Stone Benchtops

choosing the right finish
Selecting the material for your kitchen benchtops is one of the critical decisions for any new kitchen build or renovation.
Not only is it one of the hardest working surfaces in your kitchen, it will also have a major impact on the overall look of your new kitchen.

TIMBER

Timber benchtops are a great choice and are far more durable and hygienic than many people realize. They also add a lovely textural warmth to your space and given the range of sustainable timber choices available they can be a versatile choice for virtually any decor.   They pair well with light cabinetry for a minimalist Scandi style, and also work great with darker shades such as black and grey giving a very striking, modern feel.

Solid timber benchtops are also surprisingly hard-wearing and will last for a lifetime if they are properly cared for.  Un-like many other options, they are also relatively easy to repair if they are damaged.  Timber also contains inherent antibacterial qualities, which repel harmful bacteria.

Wood is a living material and continues to recycle air even after it has been felled, making for a healthier environment – not to mention the fact that it is 100% recyclable

STONE

Natural stone benchtops have a timeless appeal and can add a real statement to your kitchen.  Available in a diverse range of styles, shades and textures from edgy granite to more traditional luxe marbles and travertines.

Heat resistant, tough and durable, natural stone is incredibly strong and robust.  Most stones are sealed to reduce the risk of staining and while it’s still a good idea to clean up spills particularly acidic liquids such as lemon, vinegar or wine, the good news is that over time stains on natural stone do fade over time and even etching can be polished out to restore them to their best.
